Question for SW experts out there...Pres Week

Does anyone know historically when Presidents week fares have been released for Southwest? Trying to book for next year on the other airlines and the options are horrible already.

Any input would be very much appreciated as I have a not-so-great Delta fare on hold until 11 pm tonight and need to decide whether to let it go and wait for SW...

I want to say that i booked my flights in sept for this past pres week but i'm not 100% sure

i didn't get a great rate though. I kept checking and checking and the next thing i know all the fares except the most expensive ones were gone. Paid almost $400 each--luckily i had frequent flier miles.

however, within 3 days of the schedule being out, ALL the fares, even the expensive ones were gone. That was for Sat to Sat. Good luck

SW is getting better, from their standpoint, of matching their discounts to flights that are less popular.

Look up the maximum, fully refundable fare for your flights. If you can book an alternate airline for less grab it. DON'T ASSUME the cheap Ding fares you see will be available President's week.

A lot of SW customers will be using RR tickets Presidents week.

We have flown Pres week from BDL for the past two years and if you want to fly Fri, Sat,Sun to Fri, Sat Sun I would plan on your best SWA fare being about $330 and that's if you're one of the first to book. Full fare is about $400 and prime weekend fares are sold out within a few weeks. However, if you can be a little flexible (and maybe miss a couple days vacation or go for a shorter time) you can get a deal. I booked when the fare came out, but then a special came out a couple weeks later. Originally, it was fly down late Monday night and return the following Tuesday night and I had a fare of just under $200. We opted to take an earlier more direct flight out on Monday and paid $230. We would have had to pay about $40 more to return on Monday as I recall. This year we're hoping to have free tickets.
