Question for secret shoppers

I received an assignment today. I have never done one before. Anyway, it says to make a purchase and then discard upon exiting the store. Do they want me to purchase and then just throw it away? Why would I do that? Would they know if I didn't??

Just curious, what might the product be? I have been doing shops for several years and have never heard of anything like this.

You will need to contact the company that scheduled you for the shop for better directions - sounds a bit confusing to me!

I sent them an e-mail earlier asking about that and I never heard back from them. I just went onto the website and the assignment is no longer available, I just received it this morning . The assignment dates were for today and tomorrow and it was for adidas anti-perspirant.

Which mystery shopping company was it?? You can PM me if you like. THis sounds very odd. Were you assigned the shop? OR did you just request it??

Maybe someone at the company made a mistake and they figured it out. Happens. Curious though.
