Question for recent Backstage Magic ABD - Re: Lowes Hollywood Hotel

I am on the June 8 - 13 Backstage Magic ABD and recently received my paperwork. While going through the paperwork I noticed that on Day 1 the Welcome Dinner is at the Lowes Hollywood hotel and breakfast on Day 2 and 3 are at the Lowes Hollywood Hotel. I went to the Lowes site to get an idea of whether it was a buffet or a menu restaurant and found out that the restaurant is under renovation but the site said they have "grab and go" stuff available.

I am wondering from recent Backstage Magic ABD'ers, have alternative arrangements been made for dinner and breakfasts? I plan on calling ABD next week to inquire but thought I'd ask here first.

I hate to say it, but ABD may not even know that the restaurant is closed. In October 2013, ABD still had a visit to the Disney Soda Fountain on the guides' agenda, even though it had closed for renovation a couple of weeks before. Probably worth a call…

It may not be an issue. When we went our meals at Lowe's were all in a special room set aside for our ABD group. Since the hotel is still probably doing room service, my guess would be that the kitchen is still operational and the meals for ABD will still be at the hotel.

Thanks.....I do have to call ABD since my flight times were changed again...so I will inquire about the resturant situation.

Will you please post what ABD tells you? We are going on the 7/13 one. Thanks!! I hope you have a great time!! Any tips or pointers you want to pass along to me would be appreciated.

December 2013 was our third BSM.

Lowes had full breakfast set up in one of their restaurants and grab and go coffee station set up in the lobby, due to the lobby renovations that were on going at that time.

We used the grab and go for our non-ABD preday stay and ABD provided full breakfasts during their part of the tour.

I have a great "source" who was there on an ABD in February who said the lobby is completed and looks fantastic.

Welcome dinner is usually held in a small conference or break out room in the hotel, and is served buffet style. Our dinner was quite good.

Lowes is a terrific hotel.

Just got off the phone with ABD....they advised that I am not to worry Disney has taken care of everything and has made all the necessary arrangements...

Thanks everyone for your comments....this is my first ABD and I am very excited....I am always the planner for our vacations so for me to have someone else planning it will be quite a change for me....I have heard that once you have been on an ABD, you will be hooked.
