Hello. UPS stopped by my house today and dropped off a very important package, my Disney Travel company ticket package!!! I have used DTC before and am familiar with all the "perks", but this one is new. I recieved a photopass card. The PP people want me to register this card before I go to Disneyland because I'll be able to see the picture right away online or at one of thier stations. I was planning on getting the Disney CD at DL, the one with all the stock DL pictures and a coupon to order my PP CD when I get home. Will I be able to do this if I registar this PP card before my trip?

The PP card that I got looks like this:

U can put more then one photo pass card on an single photo pass card account(when you register it you can do this) its easy, i linked skiingfast's PP into my already existing PP account..and so we get my photos and his photos on my account.

Thanks for the info. But, it doesn't really answer my question.;)

This card has no pictures on it yet, it came in the mail with my WDTC package. If I by the stocked Disney CD at DL, can I still use the coupon the CD comes with to buy my PP pictures?

I'll be able to tell you after Sunday. I have photopass cards from our September trip that I registered in October. I haven't purchased the CD yet because I'm here right now for a conference and plan on purchasing the stock CD. I'll check with the CMs before I purchase it, but I think it should work since it's a code that comes with the stock CD that gives you the "free" CD. The Photopass website wouldn't likely have a way of knowing if you bought the stock CD before or after you registered the Photopass card.

My photos expire Sunday (which is also the day I return from this trip) so I'll definitely know for sure by Sunday night.

I know that preregistering the card for WDW trips doesn't change anything.

All that preregistering it does is supposedly makes you eligible to get emailed discounts. It doesn't stop you from getting the other discounts. I wouldn't worry about it at all, I'd preregister IF you want to, and I personally would expect it to all work exactly the same as if you didn't register it.

I swear, Disney has caused SO much confusion with this preregistering nonsense!

I got one of those as well before our trip to WDW in late Sept. Here's why I didn't register before I went..

It starts your 30 days ordering window as soon as the first picture is taken. It will upload to your account automatically (within hours). I believe this is one way Disney has figured to reduce how many days you can actually get on one CD order. Of course, you can always pay extra to extend your ordering window.;)

For me, that would be a problem since I wanted to have both WDW and DLR on the same CD. I also wanted to get the max. amount of days I could (60) by uploading my PP pictures 30 days from date taken. Then I had another 30 days to do the edits.

I shared my CD with a few friends and made sure they didn't register their card before their trip either. This would have been a huge problem with some of our dates.

BTW, I just got my CDs yesterday. I used the coupon code from the Gallery CD I bought in DL. It worked like a charm.

Basically, the card they sent you is just another PP card. There may be a discount attached to it but you can't use that as well as the coupon from the Photo Gallery CD.

If you have any more questions, just ask. I'm becoming quite an expert on Photopasses. I can't tell you how many CDs I have ordered (with WDW and DLR and just DLR on them)

Have you actually had that experience? Brad, creator of stitchkingdom, says it doesn't work that way.

Guests who are concerned that pre-registering the card may trigger the 30 day deletion clock on all added photos can simply acquire new cards on site to use, however Disney's PhotoPass has advised that the deletion clock only begins once the photos are actually viewed online, not when the card itself is added to the account.

But specific experience is always good to know about!

I have the exact same questions. :santa: Hope to get my answers before I leave on my trip.

No I haven't. I wonder if anyone on these boards has had any actual experience with this? I still wouldn't preregister it, especially if I was using a discount already (like pre buying or coupon code) since you'll only be able to use one code and what would be the advantage of pre-registering.:confused3

For many people, who won't be using a discount code to honor and who will only have one Disney trip on their CD, order I guess I would go ahead and pre-register. Maybe you will get a discount code in your account.

I know that if you use a card that you have from a previous trip that has already been added to your account any photos you take will appear in your account the day they are taken. My 2 sisters used a card of mine from DLR while we were at WDW. I had already uploaded the DLR card. Now I don't know if the clock starts on those the day they were taken or they day they were first viewed as it was the same day for me. I looked at the account while I was at WDW (since it's free to look online from your room-no daily charge to access photopass site)

Thanks for the info. I don't visit stitchkingdom.

I pre-registered my photopass card. Our first picture was taken 10/12, my daughter looked at them online when we got home on 10/16. I was 99% sure until I looked today that they expired 11/16. It now says 11/26, but I clicked on get an extension before I looked again today.

When I've heard of people getting discount offers after registering the card, it's for prints, cups, that sort of thing. So it could be worth it, if you thought you might get some of those things, and not just the CD. Two orders, one for the CD and one for the items, so you could use two codes total...
