Question for other timeshare owners

Reading the boards, I see lots of posts from people who ae checked in and get to their room and find that it has not been cleaned. After 10 years of 2 - 5 visits a year, we have never had a problem with this. Smokey smell in a non-smoking room, yes, but never a dirty room. Does this type of thing happen at other timeshares too, or is it something that is happening more frequently with DVC? I have a feeling it must happen everywhere occasionally, but we just hear about it more on these boards. Just interested in what other people think.

I love DVC and realize they are only human - everything can't be perfect all the time. For us, DVC has been 99.9% perfect all the time.

It's just reported here more often. Like you, we've never had a problem despite multiple visits.

Posts like "I checked in and found a clean room" just aren't the norm. We expect a clean room and so people post when that expectation isn't met.

IMHO, mistakes happen. The test of a good business is how they react when mistakes are made. I think Disney/DVC does a good job in that area. I also think you get better service with a smile than you do when you are visibly upset (even when you are understandably upset). Lots more fun (and easier) to help someone nice than someone acting like a jerk - even when you understand why the person is upset.
