Question for On-line Adventurers

As I was working on the On-line Great Pin Adventure II, I was trying to think of ways that those who could not attend personally could somehow be connected to the event. I thought about implementing a "Proxy Adventurer" program where an on-line participant would pair with someone who would be attending in person. The on-line participant would send a lanyard with trader pins to a partner who would be attending in person. I would then create lanyard cards that would be attached to the bottom of the on-line participant's lanyard

The person going to the event would then wear two lanyards, one for themself and the other for their proxy partner. Pins could then be traded for the person who is not in attendance. At the end of the event, the person attending would send the lanyard, newly traded pins, and proxy lanyard card back to the on-line participant giving them the excitement of having a lanyard with a different set of pins. While at the Great Pin Adventure, we will try to get pictures of some of the proxy trades so that people can see their pins attending the event. I am curious whether anyone would be interested in such an arrangement?

I think it sounds like a fun idea but maybe it would get old for the proxy so maybe with all the people that are there and the few of us still here you could even trade off and the lanyard could really get around. I for one would also like to send a disposable camera maybe and then you peoples could take pictures and send camera back with lanyard. Viola instant memories of places that I almost was. (My duckfan how you have changed!)

I chose you as my proxy-for person...
You know I always take good care of you when I take my trips. And I will do the same this trip, Roger too, I have taken him on as my own personal get well crusade. I can't heal the world, but I can help one person....
But your not getting that free pin for me registering for the Bfst. If I have to eat those runny eggs and dry hash browns I should get something .

I have signed up as an on-line participant, and have asked Cathy Lee to be my partner ( proxy - trader). If all works out well for her to go, I hope she will be willing to do this for me. If not, I will need to rely on someone else. I'm loading up a lanyard for someone to have fun with . It's a great idea for those of us at home. I hope it will be fun for those who are standing in for us and making trades.

I have updated the Great Pin Adventure II web site to include a list of Activities that will be available to people attending in person and electronically. I am incorporating the Proxy Adventurer program into this adventure. If you are interested in participating in this program, please contact Arizona Jeff. This should be a lot of fun.

We are still accepting request for Proxy Pin Trading . Right now we have open spots available for electronic adventurers. We have had several people generously offer to act as proxies at Walt Disney World. If you would like to get in on the fun by having your lanyard and pins be a part of the festivities within Walt Disney World at the September pin event, please sign up.

With about five weeks remaining before the Great Pin Adventure, there are still people who will be in Orlando at the September meet that are offering to be proxy pin traders for those who cannot attend. This is an opportunity for those of you who cannot be there to have someone trade pins on your behalf. There are some very gracious people on this board willing to help their fellow collectors. So if you cannot attend the September event but would like to be involved, please sign up. It should be a lot of fun.
