Question for North Carolinians

We have a friend that is moving to Charlotte this year. We all thought it would be hot and muggy (like Orlando) during the summer months. They went for a visit to look at some houses and she said it wasn't muggy at all.

So she's wondering if she just lucked out, or if it will get more humid as the summer progresses. She's been to DC and we've been to Orlando and just assumed the entire east coast was more humid than here on the west coast.

I live outside of Charlotte and yes it is hot and humid. Your friend lucked out. Saying that though I love it here. It does get hot in the summer but this week it is in the mid 90's when other parts of the country is well over 100. Also, all homes and businesses have AC. If you have a job that requires you to work outside, construction, road crew, etc. it would hot. And it is humid here too but not 365 days a year. It starts to cool off after Aug.

I live in Eastern North Carolina and it is and has been hot and humid for most of July. This will most likely continue through August and into September.

The week following the 4th of July was great. My sister was visiting and she couldn't believe the low humidity. Tell your friend it was a freak of nature.

I live on the outside of Charlotte, in Union County, and I am originally from Louisiana. I have lived here for 3 years (BTW, I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and I must say that yes it does get humid. However, the humidity is not nearly as bad as Louisiana so it doesn't really bother me. There have been some days here in this summer that have had extremely low humidity, but Louisiana doesn't have any summer days like that!

We've been to WDW is September and it was so miserable. I didn't think I could ever live on the east coast.

I would say she got lucky! I am from VA orginially and now live on the East Coast of NC and it is terrible somedays. Nights are good with breeze from the ocean but sometimes it seems like the daytime will never end!
