Have you ever downloaded a book that was missing pages??

I am almost finished with a book I downloaded for free. It is titled While We're Far Apart. I am down to the last 10 pages, and I go to turn the page, and it skips pages!! It seems to be missing one or two pages. I tried finding them manually from the slide bar on the bottom of the screen, but it won't let me settle on the page.

I am SO frustrated!!! The book was good, and now I can't figure out how it ends!!

I don't think it's my Nook- it's only 3 weeks old, and this is only the second book I've read on it. The first book (which I paid for) was fine.

no - it's probably the book.

Some of those authors and publishers don't proof read very well after they convert a document to eBook and upload it. I see that is a Bethany House book. You can try deleting it from your device and re-downloading but you might have to contact customer service, and they'll have to contact the publisher - to get a corrected copy put out there.

I just read that book on my kindle and it was fine. I really enjoyed it btw. Maybe you should delete it and re-download if it is still free.

Ok, I don't know what I did, or how I did it, but I managed to be able to read the pages I couldn't read earlier. There is nothing worse than reading a book, and not being able to read the ending!

Thanks for the tips!

(I really liked that book, btw!)

I think you might have had a download issue on your Nook. I have that book and read it on my Nook Color and no missing pages. I LOVED the book BTW :thumbsup2. Page 372 is the last page that has the "book" on it, the rest is author's notes, etc.

I am sorry if I am hi-jacking. Does anyone know how to delete a book from your Nook Color? I got a free one that is not my style and I would be embarrassed if my kids got into it. I also have a few "samples" that I downloaded and decided not to purchase the book.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion on the book. I just downloaded it and think I will enjoy it.

I think you have to hook it up to your computer and remove it that way. I'm not positive since I haven't done that yet but I know that is how you can get books from places like gutenberg.org ON to your Nook.

Just sign in to your BN.com account on your computer, find the book in your library and hit the delete button next to it. Very easy to do! No need to hook anything up,( but I don't know if that will work if its a book you got from somewhere other than BN). I"m not sure how to do it directly on the Nook or if you even can. But it's easy enough to do on the website. You can also archive the books directly on your Nook. Just find the book and hold your finger on it for a second or two, a menu will pop up and then just tap Archive, this will keep it in your account, but not accessible unless you re-download it.

From the device itself if you hold down on the book cover you can select "remove from Home" That doesn't remove it from the device - just takes the book cover off of the home screens. It keeps all those people who like to "just look at" your nook color when you're out at the kids basketball games from seeing all your trashy book covers.

If you log into BN.com you can select the books to place in archive so they don't sync down at all to the nook color. I put everything I don't want my child to read (I glom on trashy romance novels) into the archives and then I keep the WiFi on the device turned off so the kid can't get to them. He really isn't techy enough yet to figure out how to log onto our router and put the password in so that keeps it fine.

If you sideload the books on you need to hook the device onto the computer to take them off. One good trick is to keep a separate SD card with just your books on there. Then you can just pop it in and out as you need it and the kids (and everybody else) can't see them.

You can do this directly on the Nook too. Same way as removing it from home. Hold your finger down on the book cover and when the menu pops up tap Archive. :) You can completely delete the book on BN.com

Books archived on your Nook still show up on your list though.
