Question for Michiganders familiar with Unemployment benefits

Hi there..

I was hoping their is at least SOMEONE else here on the dis with the same predicament or know someone who is who can help me.

We just found out today that my dh's benefits ended after this paycheck. How? Not by a letter, email or phone call from our state government , cause that would be TOO prudent.

We found out about it because my dbil who was also laid off early this year had his unemployment benefits stopped cause he didn't file an extension .

We were SUPPOSED to get a letter when our employment benefits were almost up, like 2-4 weeks before the were up with a paper to file an extension before you were just cut off without a cent. However, ppl we have talked to have received NO such letter and just had their benefits haulted , and now have to go through the agonizing job of getting ahold of someone in Lansing to fix the stupid problem..

My dh has been looking for work, however, he was really hoping to get into the "No Worker Left behind" college coarse thing.. and now that all of this crap has happened, he has to postpone it..
He is gonna call tomorrow though..

Anyone else have a similar prob?
