Hi all- I have a dear friend who will be taking a Disney Cruise in June and then visiting WDW for a few days after. They are staying off site. She asked me a few questions that I can't answer for her, so I'm calling the DIS experts in on this one.

Are there Magic Bands on the cruise? If not, because they are staying off site, will they receive them, or would they need to purchase them at the park?

Lastly, how can they make FP+ reservations 30 days in advance, if staying offsite? Do they do it on the MDE website? :confused3

TIA!

Hi all- I have a dear friend who will be taking a Disney Cruise in June and then visiting WDW for a few days after. They are staying off site. She asked me a few questions that I can't answer for her, so I'm calling the DIS experts in on this one.

1- Are there Magic Bands on the cruise? If not, because they are staying off site,

2- will they receive them, or

3- would they need to purchase them at the park?

Lastly,

4- how can they make FP+ reservations 30 days in advance, if staying offsite?

5- Do they do it on the MDE website? :confused3

TIA!

1- Nope.
2- Nope.
3- Yup.
4- They need to order park tickets before they can make FP+ reservations.
Order the tickets as "will call" (pick up at WDW.)
5- Put the ticket order numbers into MDE earlier than 30 days before the
first day at the park... then make FP+ reservations starting 30 days before the
first day at the park.

I have another question that was asked of me, that is similar. Do you have to have MB to reserve for fp+? Our friends are staying at Bonnet creek, and have tix from UC tourist. They linked their tickets on MDE, but will they just tap their tickets at FP+? In other words where are the fp+ selections stored if they don't have MB?

2- They linked their tickets on MDE, but will they just tap their tickets at FP+?

In other words

3- where are the fp+ selections stored if they don't have MB?

1- Nope.

2- Correct.

3- Just to keep things as clear as possible-

There is no reservation info, or ticket info, or credit card info,
or FP+ info "put onto" a MagicBand.

The MagicBands just contain a unique serial number that is used
to access the information that is stored in your MyDisneyExperience computer file.

So, even if you were to lose a MagicBand, the info stays locked in your file.
Disney can just set up a new band (different serial number)
to access the info in your MDE file.
Disney can also issue ADDITIONAL MB's to a guest and each
additional band can be used for the same purposes as the first band.
So, yes, there can be multiple MB's per person, and each of them can be used by that person.

The MagicBand works like the combination to a locked safe, or a key to a locked door.

Why does this distinction matter?
Because there is so much fear about losing bands and,
in turn, losing all of a guest's information thought to be on the band.

The MB, itself, is not the file of info or the container of the info.
The MB just unlocks the file of info, allowing it to be accessed from your MDE account when needed.

A plastic RFID ticket can do the same functions as the MB in regard to
entering a park and dealing with FP+.

1- Nope.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!:worship:

We are staying offsite too, and our 30-day window opens tomorrow. Our 7-day base tickets are linked in MDE, but I have a couple of questions:

1. Will we be able to book all 7 days of FPs tomorrow, or will I have to book 1 day at a time? I know with onsite guests booking at 60 days, they can get FPs for their entire length of stay, but it seems like I read somewhere that for offsite guests, it's different. (I hope I'm wrong!)

2. If I am able to book all 7 days of FPs tomorrow, does it have to be consecutive days? We have one non-park day scheduled for the middle of our visit.

Thanks!

1. Unlikely.

2. Nope.
But, that's the very good reason that you may not be able
to just book all days of your trip at once.

You'll need to book them on a day by day basis.
