question for lap band user

I have a friend who has a lap band and she has a card stating that. She's wondering if there are any discounts offered at Disney for lap band users. I've never heard of one but I thought that I would check.

No- even at buffets you normally have to pay for a child that sleeps- even if she doesn't each miuch she pays full price for buffets or orders anything she wants off the menu.

Not that I have ever heard..At ala carte style restaurants she can order an appy or maybe a childs size meal.At buffets and family style she is goingto be charged full adult price considering they charge a 10 yr old CHILD the same.

Post on the disabilities board. Some restaurants, I thought including Disney, charges guests with gastric bypass/bands the child rate.

I had gastric bypass surgery 2009(lost 140lbs) and have been to WDW 3 times since and NO you do not get any discounts. It is very easy to manage your intake there and I have not had any problems..even used DDP...I often get apps as an entree(have not ever had a problem with this) at TS and at CS DH and I often share a meal and he gets a snack to augment if he needs to...

No discounts, but a kind server might let her order off the child's menu.

Also, ordering apps as entrees is a good idea. Many of the app items are similar to entree items anyway.
