As I get older, my eyes get dry quicker and I seem to tolerate contact lenses for only short amounts of time and I wound up using my glasses for longer periods in each Disney trip. I tried getting an eyeglass strap to keep my eyeglasses on during rides, but I found it very uncomfortable. Where the strap attaches to the eyeglasses rubs my ear and the strap around my long, wavy hair looks ridiculous. How do ya'll manage this? Do you have a comfortable eyeglass strap? How do you secure so it's comfortable and cute? Would love to see some pics!

Honestly I take mine off on the rides where I’m most likely to get jostled hard. I’m near-sighted though and don’t have astigmatism so I can manage without mine for the brief time in the ride. I’ve never cared for the straps either because I tend to have braids at the parks and I have issues with those and the straps.

A lot of rides you can actually get away with wearing glasses though. I don’t take them off for Mine Train, Tower of Terror, a few others. But I also only ever bring my cheapo Zenni glasses on vacation and not my main pair from Costco, just in case.

We just got back from a trip where I had worried about this! My younger two (7 and 5) both wear glasses. The older took his off for rides, but my younger has very poor vision and isn't interested in *ever* having his glasses off! I was really worried about them, but they stayed on fine. He does have little silicone hooks on the arms of the glasses that sort of "cup" behind his ear and so that may have helped. He was too short for RNR or Tron, but they stayed on fine during Guardians, Everest, Mine Train, etc.

I used to use a sports strap and only put it on for a couple of rides like RNRC.

What I've come to realize is that as long as your glasses are properly fitted they aren't coming off.
So now I don't use anything.

May be worth investing in a cheap pair and leaving them on most rides!

I will give the type with the silicone hooks a try. The type I have has the band go around the glasses and it's very bulky.

My daughter and I each use the Croakies endless adjustable retainer. We each just pull our long hair over it in the back. Neither of us feel it and no one sees it.

Save yourself a few coins and just get the little rubberband type hair ties. I get the black ones. Tie the glasses arm up like a ponytail, back where the glasses arm goes behind your ear. I put on and leave on all day sometimes. Your glasses will slip less when sweating too.

What the heck? I can’t even picture what you’re talking about! Lol!
Nice trick possibly.

I think the "hack" is just that they the rubber band hair tie gives them more grip on your head but to me it would hurt.
The key really is just having a proper fitting. I can tug pretty hard on mine and they won't come off unless I am purposefully taking them off.

Do you mean that you tie a little piece of the rubber band at the end of the glass arm or that you tie behind your head? Trying to picture this!

I have to wear bifocals in both sunglasses and clear lenses, so even zenni or warby Parker glasses aren't cheap.

What i found that works is I just tuck the glasses inside the front of my shirt with one arm hooked on the outside to secure it.

I have two pairs of glasses. Both are progressive and transition lenses. One I have fitted so that they can’t move on roller coasters, the other is more loose for comfort. The fitted one hurts my ears over time. But that pair is great for not sliding during time outside in the humidity and have become my park glasses.

I leave mine on for a low to medium level rides. But I take them off for the big roller coasters and carry a zippered case for those. I have left them on before and succeeded. But I worry the whole time about my glasses and can't enjoy the ride.

I like the idea of a band on them but hate the feel of the band on my sweaty head all day. sigh.

I think part of my problem is that I have a small face (I'm fairly petite all around, I'm 4'11) and my glasses may be just a tad wide.
I have a hard time finding glasses that fit too, in my case I learned it was due to a low bridge. Most glasses are not made for them so that’s why mine are always slipping down. Apparently this is a very common problem for Black and Asian people due to the shape of our noses.

I had to start looking for “universal fit” frames, but I get my main glasses from Costco (my optometrist is there) and they are not as common at my warehouse.

I’m still trying to figure what to do. Ironically, I recently had an eye appointment, and my Rx changed very slightly. I told the eye doc that I’m waiting until after our upcoming trip to get the new Rx. No way am I bringing new glasses on the trip!
