My house has ridge vents and I am thinking of having someone install a power vent (whirlybird) as the ridge vents do not do enough to cool the attic and the A/C is being worked pretty good.

I just don't know if a power vent wood do any good or would it "short cycle" by pulling air from the ridge vents.

Any thoughts?

Also adding extra insulation to your attic will help also. You can also get a tax credit for doing so.

The great thing about insulation,it will pay for itself over the long term.
