I am trying to figure out what kind of dog I have. I got him when he was four weeks old and all anyone knew for sure was that his mother was a German Shepherd. At first, everyone suggested he might be part Beagle but he is 9 months old and about 70 pounds now. I was thinking part collie but now I have found what looks like Lab fur on his back. Any suggestions of what you think he might be? (And yes, I know that they have tests that they can do to find out for sure and I plan to get one eventually but in the meantime it's fun to speculate.)

I would say he definitely has German Shepherd and Lab in him, but he's thin - maybe Doberman in there too! Why pay to find out what breeds are in there, he is who he is - your wonderful friend!;)

Thanks for your opinions and the compliments....I guess the only reason I would pay to find out is that I'm curious. You're right...he is my wonderful friend, especially now that he's stopped nipping for the most part. He's never been aggressive, but he definitely was too much of a "play" biter for a while there.
