HI There..

We are leaving on the Wonder on the 26th of December, and will be flying in on Christmas Day in the afternoon..Anyone have any good suggestions for a decent, not-too-expensive hotel, that would be nice to stay at for the evening..? I saw someone mention the Hyatt..We also need the transfers to the port...

We are gonig on the Wonder from the 26th-29th, and then doing New Years at WDW...

THANKS in advance for any help..

Sherry

If you wish to stay near the airport -- then the Hyatt is probably the most convenient you will find. In the AM you just put your luggage outside your room door and the mouse himself will see that it arrives in your cruise stateroom! The DCL bus representative's [if you choose that mode of transfer] will meet you right in the Hyatt Lobby.

Many people also get some airport area hotels thru priceline or hotwire and terrific rates -- although not quite as convenient as the Hyatt.

You also have the option of staying the night before in the Cocoa Beach area. We've done the airport Hyatt and also the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach and enjoyed both stays.

HI there

Thanks for your reply!
Is Cocoa Beach far from the airport and/or Port Canveral? Do they offer transportation as well to the Port? (also, is there a charge for the transportation...)

THANKS
Sherry

Sherry,
Cocoa Beach is only a few miles from the port -- and the Hampton does provide a shuttle to the ship. BUT not from the airport to Cocoa Beach. You would have to rent a car or use a towncar service. Many people that rent a car choose to stay at the Radisson in Cocoa Beach area -- as the Avis Rental return is right beside the Radisson and then they use the free shuttle from the Radisson to the Port.

The easiest [most relaxing] way would be to arrive at the airport and stay at the Hyatt -- using the Disney transportation in the AM.

My vote would be for the Hyatt. All you would need to do is get your luggage, go up the escalator and you're there. Plus, since it will be Christmas night, you might be able to get a pretty good rate. I can't imagine that they will be very crowded. Might be worth a call directly to the hotel to find out.
