We have Direct TV but are thinking of getting Comcast because I live with a couple of Philles baseball addicts (okay.....I have become one too :rolleyes1) We are looking to keep Direct TV and it would be $29.99 a month for a minimum 12 month contract. (far cheaper than going to games or going out to eat someplace that shows the game on TV a few times a month). Does anyone have this kind of set up and is any of the installation or anything like that negotiable?

My husband said to call tomorrow to find out any details and I just wanted to have some sort of ideas before I did.

Thanks!

Comcast installation charges are generally not negotiable.

In our market, any of the games on MLB or even ESPN are blacked out. My husband and son went to the game this past Wed night and it was on ESPN but blacked out because of Comcast. :sad2: We thought about doing that!!

So you live in the Phillies' market?

You can check here to see what your market is:

Good luck! I can say I'd much rather be going to see my Dodgers than watching them on TV, but I don't live in LA anymore.

Yes we are in Phillies market. We even had a free preview of some Direct TV channels this weekend but once gametime started, it was blacked out. The channels had the pre-game shows on but no game. Grrr!

:wave2: Lisa

We had both (do not have any longer) DirectV and Comcast for quite a number of years. We canceled the DirectV several years ago, just Comcast now. We simply utilized two separate video inputs on the TV to switch from one to the other.

While in FL we bought the MLB package to be able to see the Red Sox games. When there was nothing else good on TV we would watch another game - there was always one on in the afternoon and evening. Usually the announcers are for the home team, but this year they sometimes offer a choice of home or away broadcasting. I just wish there was more pre and post game material. Programming begins 5-10 minutes before the first pitch and ends as the players head to the showers.
