Question for Christians

One of my favorite Disney movies is Hercules. I've seen it dozens of times over the years, but it wasn't until last night that I realized that this movie could be offensive to some Christians. While the movie obviously deals with Classical mythology, the opening number presents the story as "The Gospel Truth". Do you consider it blasphemy?

For the record, as a Christian, I do not find it offensive; I was just wondering what other Christians felt.

Not in the least is it offensive to me as a Christian. I love mythology. It's just a story. :)

I don't get why it would be offensive. It's mythology.

I remember seeing an interview with Jerry Falwell about the movie "Gladiator". The interviewer was baiting Falwell about the Illyseum Fields and the religious scenes in the movie. Falwell said he loved the movie and thought it was a good historical depiction of the beliefs of many Romans of that time.

And even if it were a movie that had themes or beliefs from other current religions, why would that be offensive? What most christians find offensive is when there is a slanted depiction of Christianity.

It's mythology. In no way offensive to me as a Christian. Besides, I think if you are offended by something you aren't all that secure in your beliefs to start with.

I have found that only weak, sad and folks with no inner core EVER get offended.
General Patton had a phrase for people that get offended,
It was: Lifes Losers
So no, as a Christian is does not offend me.
