Hi Everyone!

For those of you who are on the other boards as well, you may know me as Monorail_Red! (somebody already has the same username with the underscore!)

But I registered here and finally found some time to post here! I will be on the SPring 2010 College Program in a Transportation role!

So I've been researching this the past few days, but I really couldn't find the answer I was looking for so I thought I would post here and get some input on it.

I know that for the WDWCP you cannot change your role. I also know that if you are a non WDWCP CM, you have to stay in a role for 6 months before you can transfer. So I just want to start off by saying that I am not looking to change my role for the CP, which in my case is Transportation.

So say I want to transfer to or from Monorails, Watercraft, or Bus Greeter during my program. Can it be done? I have heard of cases where College Program Cast Members who transferred work locations during their programs, however I understand it is very rare for that to happen.

I have found that according to College Recruiting my role, Transportation, is made up of three areas – Bus Greeter, Watercraft Operations, and Monorail Operations. Therefore, I will not be changing my College Program role I were to transfer to/from the areas that make up Transportation. In my case, wouldn't it simply be a location change, not a role change?

Thanks!

You should post this question on the College Board.

I can't say for sure but I think it's very hard to change jobs. My daughter is there now and one of her roommates left the CP because she couldn't get moved.

IF they allow it, you would be on the bottom of the list for transfers - Full Timers and Part Timers would be before you, even if they put in a request after you.

Most likely no. You will be trained for one location. So if you are trained watercraft, you won't be able to work with the busses. For instance: My first CP I did attractions. Just because I was trained attractions in Fantasyland did not mean that I could switch to another area. That is still considered the same thing as transferring roles. It does happen once in a blue moon. Most notably when they spot somebody in an in demand height range for entertainment.

Now, what you can do is pick up extra hours via the extra hours hotline. I have been able to pick up roles in other areas that required fast pass or attractions training. I don't know how transportation works, but it might be possible ou would be able to pick up roles in other transportation locations on a shift by shift basis. I hope that makes sense.

The only time I have ever personally heard of a CP being transferred was because housekeeping was taking a physical toll on them. If you have the right training, you might be able to pick up shifts in the different areas of transportation.
