Question for Atlanta residents

We love the Gospel Brunch at WDW's House of Blues, and since we are going to be in Atlanta for a weekend, I wondered if there are any churches we could go to that have a big gospel production as part of the service. Are there any particular Atlanta churches that are famous for that? I'd think there would be, but maybe they just don't want tourists, because I could not find any through searching the internet.

Also, has anyone gone to Gladys Knight's chicken and waffle restaurant, and is it worth going to?

Is Atlanta really segregated, or can we go to those places/are they in safe parts of town? I think I'll have trouble dragging my in-laws out of the suburbs!
