HI Guys :goodvibes

Our AP's expire mid April and we will have managed to get three trips out of them

Is there any benefit to renewing them in April as opposed to waiting until August (our next trip) and buying new AP's at that point?

At the moment our plans are to go every Easter and August so we generally get approx. 7 weeks use out of them but this time we will have managed to get 10 weeks use as we got to use them for two Easter trips as the dates fell favourably :thumbsup2

Any thoughts?

Also, thinking about the figures involved, do we all need AP's?!?!?

Thanks in advance.

A benefit of renewing is a small saving on cost.
Is it a regular AP? (not Premium)

Renewal cost $510.14 (£321)
New cost $552.74 (£348)

£27pp saving at least, it will be slightly more as the cost of new will probably rise before you go in August.

Will you get all your Easter 2013 trip in this years AP if you renew this April? Easter falls early April.

If you renewed August is there any chance you could go slightly earlier next year and get 2 August trips in 1 pass?

Just double check all you dates and work out which is the best 12 month to buy.
They are not worth it to us for now, we do Disney in August while on free DDP but any other trips we miss Disney and do other things.

We try to buy 1 every two years going August and May/July on one, then following year buy in august and go may/july again

Effectively half the cost.

So Aug 09 + May 10 = 1 AP
Aug 11 + Jul 12 = 1 AP

4 calendar years and 2 APs and there have actually been more trips than that as well so all in all I think we've had a very cheap per day cost for disney over all and with all the other perks like free parking etc it almost pays us to go more, that's what I tell myself anyway.

Hi Guys and thanks for your replies....

London75, how is your wrist now? or was it both IIRC? Fully healed I hope :goodvibes

Yes, if I renew in April when they expire, we will get our Easter 2013 trip and August 2012...... so that's approx 7 weeks of hols....

We can't alter our dates of travel for August, we go for pretty much the whole of the month and our Manager (DH's next in command!) is happy to have the last two weeks of July, so that is kinda set in stone.....

As for Easter, well we go for as long as pos, 19 nights this time, to include a few days prior or after the school Easter hols....

Looks like I am going to have to get my dates written down and see what suits us best and also price up 21 day passes etc....

The difficulty is, trying to weigh up how much use we will get out of the passes, we don't do any planning these days, just like to have the freedom to pop to the parks when the fancy takes us and saving on the parking makes a big difference too but of course we only need one AP for this....

I'll get my thinking cap on later!!

Thanks again,

Ali :goodvibes

Thanks, wrists (plural unfortunately) are much better now and looking forward to this year's holiday after the strange trip last year.

It sounds like it will make little difference over all whether you renew or wait as you'll still get the 2 trips out of them, however, on reflection, renewing at Easter might get them in before any price rises planned which is probably worth considering. I can't remember when they rose last year but seem to remember they did it early as I bought ours early to activate later last year I think.

If you are not going to get 2 summer trips out of one AP then I would renew them - you will save a few £££s and get the same number of days out of them. I let our passes expire in November and bought new passes in February and if we go for half term next year it should fall under the old pass.

Also if you want to got to Disney on both trips AP's are the way to go - 2 sets of any other tickets will work out more expensive.
