Question for AP holders: Food Time

I have a question about the time it takes to get to the park.
So, if you have an AP and you go and park your car, (say downtown disney or anywhere) can you go in the parks grab food at one of the counter restaurants and be back to your car in under an hour?

I was wondering if it's do-able for a lunch. I've done dinner (many years ago) but I didn't pay attention to how long it took.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I'd say yes but only with a bunch of qualifiers ... if it's not busy, it's one of the restaurants closer to the park entrance, you get served really quickly, and you're a quick eater :) In cases I'd say you're realistically looking at over an hour though. The question is unusual enough to make me wonder -- which restaurant did you have in mind?

My vote would also be no, but I'm guessing crowds would be the limiting factor as well, so if it was not busy and you eat fast at a counter service it might be doable!

Awesome name too BTW - my name is Shanna and my friends love to say it as Sha-na-na-na-na~! ;)

I think it completely depends on when you're going and how busy the park is. It also depends on where you park. If you're in DTD parking, you're walking, but you could get in via the Monorail, which is really close to where you enter DTD from the parking area. If you're eating close to Tomorrowland that could work out great. The parking structure, you may have to wait for a shuttle both ways. If it's super busy, you would be waiting in line to get into the park and then to get your food. I think you have to give more information to determine whether it's feasible. In July, August, spring break, holidays--no way

Just curious, why an hour?

Technically you are not suppose to go to the parks if you park in DTD. I know it happens. I know we have done it on our arrival day, before we could check into our hotel. You get 3 free hours, I set an alarm for 2 hours so we can get back to the car before time.

That's my thought, too. I've been to DCA 2 times in the past month. Both times I've had awesome (counter) food. I'd want to go to Flo's or one of the Wharf eateries.
I grew up near DLR (before DCA!) and I remember getting in really quick, but now, not so much. I wouldn't try it during the summer, but perhaps in the fall it may be possible... the food is just that good.

Were you planning on eating the food at the CS location or walking and eating? My guess is that at most places (especially during peak eating times) it would be difficult to park, get through security, enter the park, order your food, eat, walk out of the park, and get to your car in under and hour (and not feel rushed).
