Question for anyone who lives near Cedar Point?

My SIL asked me to help her plan an October wedding at Cedar Point. I have no idea where to start! Does anyone know if there is a small wedding chapel in Sandusky where they can have a quick and casual wedding, followed by a day at the park? Do any of the area hotels offer a site for a wedding and who would she get to officiate? What about getting married in the park? I checked Cedarpoint.com and it didn't provide any info.

They have children and have lived together for 7 years, so they are just looking for a casual fun family weekend.

If nothing else, you can always call the Sandusky County Courthouse. They probably have a list of people who can marry you, you can get married in the courthouse. Downtown is not far from Cedar Point. Other than that I have no idea. You also might want to call the Hotel Breakers, they might have done this before.

I don't have time tonight, but tomorrow I will look in the Sandusky phone book for you and see what I can find. I don't know of any small chapels in Sandusky, but there might be some in Marblehead, Catawba or Port Clinton. There is a beautiful small wedding chapel in Clyde--about 20 miles from CP--that is in a bed and breakfast run by the officiants. Let me see what I can find for you.

There are no "wedding chapels" listed in the phone book, but you might try calling Great Expectations Wedding Consultants. They may be able to direct you to one or to a small church in the area. There are over 5 pages of churches in the phone book for that area, I'm sure one would fit the bill. The number for Great Expectations is 419-626-1220. I haven't found the name of the B&B in Clyde that I was telling you about. What about getting the name of an officiant in Sandusky, and have it on one of the beaches, maybe even the beach at Cedar Point....
