We are staying at The Hyatt Orlando for 9 nights in July (Priceline). Does anyone know if the rooms have microwaves in them? Any suggestions as to room location? We have 2 kids (4,8). Thanks.

A friend of mine stayed there about 2 years ago and at the time they did not have microwaves in the room. Also he tells me they did not have refridgerators either, but they did have coffee makers. I stayed there about 6 years ago..

The hotel is rather spread out. The Hyatt Orlando consists of four clusters of 2 story buildings all with internal corridors. In terms of room requests, it depends on what you are looking for. You may want to reguest a room that looks into the courtyard, as opposed to the parking lot. I beleive that they have pools at each cluster of buildings. Also this hotel borders on I-4 so if you don't have an room over looking the courtyard, you could look past the parking lot onto a freeway. Also, if you don't have a car you may want to request a building close to the main lobby building, if you want the shortest walk to the busses, dining, etc. One other thing, depending on your needs you may want a ground or 2nd floor room. Ground floor rooms have patios and of course the 2nd floor rooms have balconies, so it depends on your preference.

We did a 5-night Priceline($35/nt) stay here this past April (Easter week) and really enjoyed the hotel. This Hyatt is an older property but all the rooms have been renovated within the past year. The landscaping and grounds throughout are kept up very nicely. It is very convenient to WDW and I-4 if you want to head north to USF/IOA. It is also on 192 (across from Celebration) so you have quite a bit of choices for shopping and restaurants along that strip.

We were assigned the Orange Blosson cluster, ground floor. This was very close to the main building for quick trips to the deli/snack shop and also across the way from the Mears bus stop (never used it - had a rental). I recommend asking for this building. It also had a nice pool, spa, and gazebo area in the interior courtyard.

As sgtdisney noted, they weren't any microwaves but our room did have a coffee maker and there was a small portable fridge under the vanity. (I don't think the fridge is standard, probably left over from previous guest but we enjoyed use of it for free!)

The bathrooms have a toilet/shower and the sink/vanity is off to the side. This was a shower only - no tub. Our room was standard, not "handicapped" so you might want to ask about a tub for your little ones.

The Hyatt is a very clean, comfortable hotel. With the price we paid, we thought it was a bargain!

Hope this helps, Steve

We stayed there in March and was also in the Orange Blossom building. We really enjoyed it. I liked the idea of having a guard at the entrance checking to see if you really belonged there. I felt very safe. There was no frig or microwave, but it did have the coffemaker(with coffee),a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. It also had a real closet, not just a clothes rack. Our room had a bathtub, not just a shower. Our room was on the second floor and had a balcony. I wonder if all the rooms on the first floor only have showers so any of them can be used as handicapped rooms. I had to take the shuttle one day and the lady said my ticket was free because of how I booked the room(I assume she meant that I booked it through Priceline), otherwise it would have been $6. Keep that in mind if you have to use the bus. Have a great time.

I stayed at the Hyatt for a conference and paid way too much for the room then ($107 AAA rate). For priceline prices I think it would be ok. It's close to WDW especially with car. The Mears transpo busses are scheduled transportation, and it can take an hour to get to MK. I think the hotel has great buffets, playgrounds and the basic pool and spa in each cluster of rooms. I too recommend requesting the pool view--I had a great view of I-4!

Hope you have a good time.

also had the wierd small tub--really a shower, but ok to bath little ones
