I live in NC (mtns region) and have suffered HORRIBLY this summer with my allergies.... how much trouble did you have with your allergies on your ventures through the Bahamas? We are on the 9/19 Wonder... I'm planning on having plenty of my meds with me but hope to see how others may have faired.... I know SEVERAL years ago... ok I'm almost 31 and this was in middle school... I went on a school trip to WDW and I had such a miserable time because my allergies went FULL BLOWN misery.... much like this summer here at home has been!

TIA for any info!

I don't know much about allergies (even thought it has been a bad summer for many people) just wanted to say HI. I am from Mtns of NC too -- are you near Asheville, Cherokee or towards Boone area? We are also going on our 1st cruise too, but in about 11 days.

I suffer terribly with allergies as well as asthma. I found that I did not really have a problem last year on our four day cruise. I have been on maintenance drugs (Advair and Singular) since last May when I was forced to spend seven days in the hospital due to a severe asthma attack/allergic reaction. Since starting those, I have had very few episodes and my allegeries this year have been manageable.

The only time I had any discomfort was intially upon boarding due to the air conditioning and then again in the spa with the scented rainforest rooms.

Other than that, I did fairly well.

P.S. I sat near the entrance at the corner tables in the adult clubs, not as much smoke there and a quick escape if it became overwhelming.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much! I sure hope I don't have any troubles!! As of right now I don't have plans to visit the smoking adult clubs, so that shouldn't be a problem for me either! LOL

Thanks again!

We were on the 7/24 eastern magic and my allergies really were acting up. I really didn't think I would suffer out at sea, but maybe it was the dampness, mold and such that caused a reaction.

Exactly. It all depends on the type of allergy. I have pollen allergies and the cruises are one of the few times the congestion goes completely away. I can very much see mold allergies getting a stronger reaction, especially at the ports.
