Question for AKL experts

Are the pool view rooms at AKL very noisy? Right now I have a standard room reserved and am thinking of upgrading to pool view. Secretly hoping for an upgrade to savannah, but not counting on it. We would be paying an extra $13.00 per night for the pool view. Should I do it, or just stick with the standard?

We had a pool view and with the balcony door closed you couldn't hear any noise. We were on the 5th floor. IMHO a pool view room is definitely worth the extra $13 a night. Here's a few pics from our trip.
BTW we were offered a free upgrade to savannah but we wanted a pool view.

We had 3rd floor, Zebra trail overlooking the pool, and even though we were on the end closest to the lobby, noise was not a problem (by the way, this was a free upgrade from standard for us).

I loved our poolview room, it was great to sit on the balcony and watch my husband and older son swim while our toddler napped. Definitely worth the extra $13!!!

Next time we go to the AKL, we will definitely request the same area.

Oh, definately upgrade! We had a pool view room on the 5th floor for our stay in April. Our front door overlooked the lobby, and was very close to the rope bridge on the 5th floor. Our balcony overlooked the pool, though there were some roofs of the restaurants right below us so we weren't super close. I think the only noise we ever heard from outside our room was a couple of little kids running by the room off the rope bridge. Definately never heard noise from the pool area, though being up on the 5th floor helps!

I would think some standards are noiser than pool views, as some standards are very close to the bus stops and main entrance where everyone drops off their suitcases. Hope you can upgrade!!!

Thanks everybody! I called and got our room upgraded to pool view for an extra $13.00 per night. I also requested an upper floor. Your replies really helped me make up my mind.
