Question: Does Disney have child registration service?

Hi all. I'm traveling to Disney in two weeks with six children under 7 (some are neices and nephews ;-))

Our local amusement park (Dorney Park) has a service where you bring your child to the registration desk and they received a plastic braclet with a number that matches the contact information (ie cell phone number) that you register with. This makes it easy to find a lost child.

I've scoured the Disney website and couldn't find any information on anything like this. Just wondering if anyone has ever seen anything about it.

I haven't been to Disney since 1979 so any advice would be helpful!

Thanks.
Sam

No but if you check on the family boards there are lots of great ideas on how to id kids in case they are lost. Everything from shoelace id tags to masking tape inside the back of their shirt with contact numbers. My favorite however was the family that made bead bracelets with the cell phone number on them.

oh my gosh, the bead braclet! i love that idea and i have a DS4!
I just bought a pkg of 3 for 1 at Dick's of those rubber braclets kids wear now a days in a youth size. I thought I would put my phone number on it in magic marker. but i think the bead thing would be perfect, if he doesn't think it's too girly...LOL :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the great replies everyone.

I'm going to do two things (bc I'm so paranoid) - masking tape on the shirt and the rubber bracelet!

I have read some things that terrify me about this subject. Some people put the kids names & phone numbers, etc., on the outside of the shirt where anyone can read. IMHO, this is asking for trouble. Can you imagine..."Hey Mikie, your mom and dad told me to pick you up to meet over here..."? Gives me the chills. I like the idea of the shoe tags & bracelets. I have also read here that you should take a picture of the kids every morning with your digital camera so you are sure to remember what they are wearing that day, and can describe them more accurately to the CM's. When my DS was 2, we bought an elmo harness with a leash - now, I am a parent that firmly is against those, but it sure was comforting to know that if I took my eyes off of him walking for 2 seconds, he still was with me!

Yes, very scarey! Perhaps, I can put the name on tape on the inside of the shirt. My DS3 won't keep a bracelet on, so perhaps I could do a shoe tag for him and a bracelet for DD5 who would hate the shoe tag.

UGH, This planning is stressing me out!!!

Thanks, going to Dorney in 2 weeks w/ my niece. Didn't know this existed :)

Please, please show your children what a cast member's name tag looks like and tell them if they get separated to approach a CM. We were in AK when a woman lost her daughter. I asked her if she had done this and she said no. Never did find out what happened as security came and we felt superflous so left.
