Question: Disney Parks Mobile Magic

Has anyone used the cell phone app "DIsney Parks Mobile Magic"? My husband heard about this and looked it up. It costs $10 for 180 days, and it is available on his phone (not on mine for some reason). It is supposed to tell you current wait times for attractions, when characters will be in certain spots for meet & greets (specific times), etc. I'm hoping someone will let me know how this is, if there is anyone who has used it. It would be nice to be in Frontierland and look up Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin to see how long the wait is and/or the FP return time! Thanks in advance for any info!!

The return times, character greetings times etc. are 100% accurate. The data comes straight from Disney.

And it is interesting that you mention Buzz. One December afternoon, when we boarded the train from Frontierland to go to Tomorrowland to use our Space Mountain Fast Passes, I checked to see what the Buzz wait-time was. It was 35 minutes (greater than what I had expected), so I hot-footed it over to Buzz for Fast Passes before we rode Space Mountain.

I am wondering what to do about Buzz...DH, my soon-to-be brother-in-law, my nieces all want to ride Space Mountain....and the whole family is interested in riding Buzz together. DH, our sons and I have 2 days at MK but the rest of the family will only be there one day with us. DH and BIL plan to get FPs for them and my nieces (my older son is 1/2 inch too short as of now for SM but hoping he will be big enough by July!) for Space Mountain, but maybe we will check Buzz when we are on our way to Tomorrowland (planning to go there after Frontierland and Toon Town). Actually, maybe while I am in Toon Town with the boys at Mickey and Minnie's houses, DH will run over and get FPs for Buzz.

We also used it this past December. Wait times were 100% accurate. Fast pass availabilty was a nice feature. And yes, it is only available for Verizon customers. I understand there are other apps available for other carriers, just not updated by Disney directly.

Unless you are in one of the areas being divested, the Alltel app is the same as Verizon. It just means that market hasn't completed the branding change yet.

This is one of the reasons we wanted the app. My boys LOVE LOVE LOVE the Pixar characters, and we have 2 days at DHS so we're hoping to see as many of them as possible. We will see their other character favorites (Mickey & the gang, Winnie the Pooh & friends, etc.) at character meals.

I am thinking about getting this also for trip in May...we may be getting new phones (Blackberry's) because I need the ability to teather for school while I am there. Keep wishing it would be available for the BB by then but if not my DD will more than likely be getting my enV touch so will just put in on there and use that...
