Question, billed for CRT

15-18% has become pretty standard tip amount in the industry. I' would guess that Disney has started doing this for a couple of reasons:

Maybe if the service was better the tips would be better. I get better service at my local chain eatery than I usually get at a DW resturant. In general, the service everywhere is bad, as anybody that reads these forums knows. Obviously there are exceptions.

I priced it for 2A and got a total of 81.40....67.98 for the meal (33.99 times 2)...tax is 4.42 and gratuity is 9.00.

Hope this helps!

But that makes the gratuity about 13% which seems too low.

I see that as well, but that was the breakdown that I got from Disney Dining. Maybe since some people feel that the service is so poor at Disney they decided only to include 13% for gratuity :confused3

It seems the biggest issue is that Disney isn't very forthcoming with this information! It should be clearly stated at the restaurant and verbally explained to you when you make the reservation since they require payment up front; this way they don't keep people guessing!

I'm wondering if it has to do with the pictures and the tip is only added on to the meal and not the pics. On another thread someone said that they had the DDE discount added to their bill and it was the amount they thought and it was because of the pictures in the price. Who knows.

To add more confusion.
I had a credit for the 20% off for DDE which was 10.65.
I don't have any idea where they came up with that figure!
I was charged 81.40. I think it deals with the pictures.

Well, when I've called I've been told that the total includes the meal, the pictures, tax and gratuity. I asked for a breakdown because of this thread and they were more than willing to share that information with me. Some people are more thorough than others, myself included, so I ask for that information. Some people don't care, so maybe that's why they don't break it down. It can't hurt to ask for clarification on your own...really that's what being a responsible consumer is all about for me.

That makes sense! I never thought about trying to subtract out something for the pictures.

I love when they automatically put the 18% gratuity on the check because we always tip a standard 20%. I feel like I save a few dollars. :cool1:
