Question about Yacht/Beach Club pool

My son and I will be staying at the Yacht Club. My brother, sis-in-law and 5 year old nephew will be staying at Pop Century. If we decide to take an afternoon pool break can they come to the Yacht Club pool with us as our guests?

No. The pool is for registered guests of the Yacht/Beach Club.

Ask the front desk if you can have a guest.....if it not that crowded....
they might let you....never hurts to ask.

We were just there in June 2007 and we were not allowed to have friends of ours (2 adults) join us as the pool is for registered/hotel guests. We were unaware of this as this was our first time staying at the YC. They checked our room key every time we entered the pool and it states on the room key how adults and how many children. Once you enter they give you a colored wrist band for that day. Have fun at the YC...

Million dollar question--why wouldn't you go to Pop instead?

Official answer to your original question, pool hopping is not allowed, pools are for registered guests of that resort only.

Why not plan a day at a water park if you'd like to swim together?

Water park is a great idea. See as many times as we have been to Disney we never had anyone come to visit who were not a resort guests except for June 2007. We were not aware that we could not have guests at the pool and after speaking to the YC we completely understand and agree.

Only registered guests at each pool. My brothers and his kids stayed at a cabin in FW, we stayed at the Poly at the same time. We never swam together because it's not allowed at the Poly. Our kids were fine with time at the parks with thier cousins. Otherwise we would have went to a water park.

You may want to ask the front desk if you could use the quiet pool, not SAB. I always say, doesn't hurt to ask.

OK...well, I thought maybe they could come in with us for a little while as my guests. I guess that would tehcnically make them "pool hoppers" We're spending 2 days out of 4 that we'll be there with my brother and sis-in-law. My thinking was if we were at Epcot one day and wanted to walk back to the Yacht Club for a swim, they could come with us.
And to answer the "million dollar question" from ducklite, as to why wouldn't I go to Pop, I prefer the YC and the YC pool. That's why I'm staying there.
Also, last summer when we stayed at the Yacht Club, they only checked our room key 1 out of 5 days.
And you know, come to think of it, since my son and I are the only ones staying in our room, wouldn't I be paying the same price I would to have 2 more adults and a 5 year old in the room? Tehcnically we could all be staying in the room I'm paying for.
Believe me I get the whole pool hopping thing. For what it costs to stay at the YC, the pool should not be crowded up with people not staying there.

No, you would have to pay an extra nightly fee for that 3rd adult.

This is usually the only pool that checks guest room cards. You could use most any other resort pool without a problem.

We were just there in December and even though there weren't too many people in the pool with us they were still checking room cards and issuing wristbands...so I would say, "No".

Like MOST situation, this has merrit where you should easily be able to explain you situation and I am sure they will let the kids swim together.

Just talk to the guy handing out the bands.

I dont think he will hesitate giving you bands. Now if he catches your people there and your not there to show you are a guest..he will most likly say no.
