Question about XM Satellite Radio

I work for a car company that offers the associates leased vehicles at a very good rate and they also pick up the tab for the insurance. Anyway, it is time to turn my present lease in and get a new one. They are now offering to pick up the tab on XM Satellite radio subscription for the length of the lease. I’m thinking of getting this for the new vehicle I’ve ordered.

Since I know nothing about satellite radio, I was just wondering how it works, what kind of stations will I get, how do I find the stations, etc. Is there some place I can go to see what stations I will receive?

Sorry, I'm a little technically challenged when it comes to these things :rolleyes2

XM is great, I enjoy it. If it is built in (as it sounds like in your case), it is just another band selection, like AM/FM, then select the stations as linked above. You'll like it. I listen mostly to 50's music and news talk.

I LOVE my XM and couldn't live without it. :thumbsup2

I love XM. :cheer2: :rockband: When we bought our new SUV it came with it free for the first few months as a trial basis. Its great. On ours you push a button and it tells you what song is on and who signs it. Every type of music and talk radio you can ask for. My fav is the comedy station (stand up comics). My husband loves the NASCAR station. I am going to pay for it when the trial period is up. Also if you travel very much and loose your local stations when you get out of range, XM never drops. They included a XM program station guide in with the new papers in our glove box.

We have XM on our new van and our entire family loves it! We'll pay for our subscription once the free 3 months is up. There are so many stations that everyone can find stations that they like.

Love my XM the only time I listen to regular radio( I cant spell terrestrial) is for my local sports radio.

Thanks for the responses! I was thinking about cancelling it, but now I think I'll keep it on my order. Dan, I love listening to talk radio also... not too much on the 50's though ;)

We've had XM for over four years. It is wonderful! :cheer2:

Well, if not 50's, then 40's, 60's, 70's, 80' 90's, one station for each decade. Better than the overall 'oldies' stations, in that you can pick out your time period, plus many other stations specific to type of music.

SSB thinks that you will enjoy also....

I love it, only complaint is total number of songs in rotation... not nearly as vast as Yahoo and others avail on internet, so do get a lot of repeats if you listen to same station (such as MIX) constantly.
