This is crazy-we only got back yesterday and are already planning another trip in late January!!! WDW is addictive! Anyway, I don't even know if the Dream Maker Pkg is even a good deal, but my DH is an AP Holder. Due to the latest fiasco with AP rates (skipping over late Aug and September)-I don't even know if I should hold out hope in waiting for some during my time period of 1/22 - 2/1. I would think they would offer some because of the time period, value season, etc, etc., but that's also what I said when we booked for Labor Day Weekend! If I book a Winter Dream Maker pkg-since we'll be there for 10 nights-how do I avoid getting him a UPH, since he won't need it? Anyone have any ideas? I'd sure like a Fairytale pkg, but I'm not holding my breath on that one either!!! :0

Thanks in advance-

Amy

It is addictive isn't it.

I just went through this for our Nov. trip. I booked the Polynesian some months ago....two rooms for six of us. I was certainly hoping to get an AP rate but none are available for our dates at the Polynesian...at least right now. Three of us will have APs at that point and 3 will need admission. I asked about doing the Winter Dreammaker and they did have availability for that. I was very nervous about giving up our room only reservations but several CMs assured me that those of us with APs can stay in the room without being part of the package. The last one I spoke with made a note about three of us not being on the package.

I did the math several ways and for us it came out to be a wash if we did the Dreammaker in both rooms, did it in one (hoping that AP opened up closer to the date), or held out and eventually got both rooms at AP rates and bought the various passes the 3 non AP holders would need. Your case might be different. Ours certainly would have most years when all five of us in my immediate family would have annual passes. We're letting two expire because it could be a year before those two are back.

In fact this whole experience has convinced me that it would be wise to have our AP passes expiring at different times of the year. It happened by accident this time.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It just gets so overwhelming trying to figure out which way would be the most cost effective-particularly since we just paid rack rate for the Poly (yikes!)
