Hi all.

I am with my son, we are listening to the video of our last year's trip. It is snowing outside, and there is 8 sleeps left before we will sit in the great white plane.

OK OK stop dreaming. My question is where can I find wine?

I know that beer is available almost everywhere but is it the same for wine (french or californian)? If wine is sold in "special" stores like here in Québec, where is the nearest from OKW?

Thank for all the good advises

(On the video we are in front of Moroco at Epcot and the temperature was very windy and around 50 degrees . Hope it will be hotter this year)

Wine is sold everywhere in FL,or at least it seems like it is. Publix has a very nice wine selection, there are ABC stores everywhere.

On DIS property, I think the store at OKW may have some, I recall buying wine there. In Germany in Epcot they have a rather large collection of German wines.

All the resorts sell wine and spirits, but you'll pay 2-3 times what they normally cost. From what I recall about wines in Epcot, the countries that sell them sell one brand-several variaties, but all from the same winemaker.

Wine & beer are readily available at all the resort gift shops (All-Stars is the only one I'm not 100% sure about). The Gourmet Pantry in DD and, as mentioned, some countries in Epcot also sell wine. All grocery stores in Florida sell wine & beer, too. Gooding's in the Crossroads Shopping Center has a very big wine selection.

Save yourself some money by skipping Goodings. Go about a 1/4 to 1/2 mile further to Winn-Dixie. Winn-Dixie has a nice wine selection, and there is an ABC liquor store in the front corner of the parking lot.

Good to see a fellow wine nut posting on the boards!!!!! After you find a good wine store...there is one on International Drive in a small shopping center near the underpass of the Bee line expressway...great little store!!! anyway, make reservations on top of the Contemporary for dinner. They let you taste most of thier wines before you order one for dinner. Just about everything on the wine list is available for consumption by the glass, that's if you still have room after tasting the all wines first. They use to let you taste even their reserve wine but they have since pulled the reserve wines from the tasting menu.

If you want a large selection of French wines go to France pavilion at Epcot.

That would be the people, not the food! :D

Goodings may be expensive, but it's got the best selection of microbrewery and specialty beer of any store in the area (that I've found, anyway). When we were down in December I picked up some beer at Publix and was disappointed by the selection. We went to Goodings a few days later and I was in 7th heaven! Is there another store in the area with as good a selection as Goodings?

They have a small selection of wine for sale at OKW and BWV. Don't know about the quality but I was surprised by the prices. They seemed reasonable, considering everything else for sale in those General Stores.

I agree - I think the prices for a 750ml bottle of wine at OKW are very reasonable; I was also surprised last time I looked. Granted, you can find the wine cheaper at someplace like ABC, but at least I didn't feel like I was being gouged.

Now, as for anything else at the OKW store, well, expect to pay for the convenience.

Unless it has changed over the past few years, the Gourmet Pantry in DD seemed to have a decent selection of wines.

BTW, you may want to bring your own wine bottle opener on your trip. We try to take ours everywhere we go!

If you bring your own wine opener ( I do), be sure and pack it in your check through luggage. If you try and take it in your carryon, it will most likely be confiscated. My travel wine opener was confiscated on our last trip.
