has anyone done them before?
2 questions please:
1) do you need to flip the image, does it matter
and
2) did you cut your image out w/an exacto knife? is it easy?

I found alot of disney halloween images that i wanted to try out so i am getting motivated...

Thanks for any help, also if you have pictures maybe you can share so i can have a visual,:worship: :worship: thank you !!!!!!:lovestruc :lovestruc

I have made window clings for our windoww at WDW. I only flipped the ones I added text to, the others just faced the opposite way and the color was not as bright on the outside. I woukd flip them next time so the color woukd look better. I don't have pics because I forgot to take any of our window.

Assuming window display to the outside...

If you reverse the image, you can go over the printed side with WHITE acrylic spray paint! It will make the colors more intense in general and put white where it would have been clear.

You need to go over in multiple light coats letting it dry thoroughly between applications or the printed image will run. Just trust me on that one... :rolleyes1

I have heard that Disney is trying to ban decorating windows, but I have not heard it from an official source, so until I'm told in person to remove them or be fined, I'm going ahead with my plan.

When I get home I'll post pictures of my window clings that I painted white over the printed side.

Of course, when you do this, you won't be able to view the image from inside the room - you'll just see a white 'blob'.

RE trimming - I just use some crafting scissors I have to go around the designs. They're made by EK Success and look like they were patterned after a bumble bee. I don't cut out any interior areas, but then none of my designs need interior areas trimmed...

I've also read this. The post I read said that a guest was told by her hotel to take down the decoration or she would be charged an extra $25 per night!

I didn't hear which resort, but it would have probably been a value or moderate since those are the only ones where window decorating is more popular.

I think I read that the person had actually used window markers though. That is more of a big deal than our window clings. They do come off, but it certainly does make more work for the Mousekeepers when the person leaves the room.

I guess we need to remind people of simple common courtesy. If you put it up, take it down. If you used tape, you need to make sure all the tape pieces are removed.

I'm still holding that unless they have it in writing or advise me verbally when I check in, that they have no grounds for an arbitrary fine like that if I have not done any damage to the window. (Like the smoking in the room fine, which is written on the folio you have to sign upon check in)

First off, nobody ever said anything to me at the resort (AS Music) about removing the clings or paying a fee/fine. As long as you're not using hard to remove items, I don't think there is any problem

OK - here are my window clings that I put white acrylic paint on the back of --

I'm also showing a photo of a cling without paint on the back so you can see the difference. Note that the white areas (eyes/gloves) would not appear as white if the curtain was not behind them. There is no color there without the paint or other white backdrop. (I forgot to reverse it when I was printing it, so it was 'trash' - figured I'd take it so I could show the difference - obviously, it didn't stay up in the window)
