Question about Window Clings?

Okay, so I have printed my window clings out for our upcoming trip. However, when I put them on my car window to test them out, they were very hard to see. I have the clear clings and I was wondering if there was anything I could 'paint' on the back of them that was white to let the design stick out a bit more. Any suggestion?

How about a thin layer of mod podge and a piece of paper or fabric (like white muslin)?

That way it won't "flake" like paint might since the cling is so flexible.
