Question about 'Wicked'

debaudrn said:
It's a very difficult read. I forced myself to finish it because I had tickets to see it in NY. The book is tedious and dark and very sexual. The musical is very very different. Good luck trying to finish it. I'm still debating reading Son of a Witch.

I agree. The 1st few pages were shocking because you don't hear any of that in the play reviews. I know many, many people who have seen the play and loved it and they took their DDs. I was caught totally off guard by the twisted sexual content. I'm now about 1/2 through, Glinda and Elphaba have just left the Wizard's, and it's soo depressing, I like Elphaba and we all know what happens to her in the end, so I don't want to continue reading it only to have my feelings deepen for her. We are going May 28th so I think I'm going to stop reading the book and just enjoy the play.

It is an odd book but interesting. We got Son of a Witch too.DD has the CD from show and has been playing it a lot. We are going in May. We have 2 extra tix to the Friday 5/12/06 8pm show in Boston.DH has to go on a bus trip and DS is so not interested. This is not a cheap show. If anyone is interested in tickets PM me. We have them on ebay but auction ends this week.
