Question about Whispering Canyon Cafe for LUNCH.

Planning a trip for the week of Jan 28. Imagine my surprise when DD8 said she didn't really want to go to see Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare because she didn't really like the food there. She and DS6 both said they would rather go to "we need ketchup" (i.e. Whispering Canyon Cafe).

On our Nov 2009 trip we did WCC for DINNER. The way our schedule works out this time it may be slightly more convenient to do it for LUNCH; however, I'm curious to know whether they do the same kind of "tom-foolery" at LUNCH that they do at DINNER. (If they don't do that then I will have to find a way to arrange DINNER).

We are on the free DDP, and obviously the Dinner Menu is a little more impressive than the Lunch Menu; however, my question is really about the service / experience.

Thanks.

They still do the (I need ketchup thing) but I dont know if it's just bas loud, I have walked by the WC many times at all hours as I'm Dvc home resort in WLV.
I have heard all the yeehas lunch and dinner but I think more at Dinner, phone up the Whispering Canyon and ask about it.

Ketchup is on the table for lunch so no need for yellin'. Book a dinner if you want all the hootin' and hollerin' :)

Lunch at WCC is one of the worst dining experiences at WDW. We found there to be zero antics and sorry, the food on it's own isn't good enough to warrant a trip there if you aren't going to get any antics.

Oh Really?? I booked a lunch there too. I arrive around 1 next Thursday and am staying at WL, so I figured it would be good for lunch when we get there.

I would rebook for dinner. We went for lunch in June and had never been before. I did not see any of the antics everyone talks about.

We liked the lunch because it was quieter. There was one section and one server that was in full character and making hoopla with her tables. Ours was sweet and funny too--but not extreme. (we liked this!)

They also did the parades, etc.

We like lunch there, it's a nice break for a burger, fries and nachos which is sometimes what we want after eating signatures all the time.

I think that if you go in wanting to have fun, you'll have it--it's just not as busy as dinner.

At lunch it must depend on the crowd. We walked in for our reservation and there was a "rodeo" going on with kids riding the horses around, and the crowd was twirling their napkins. It wasn't overly loud, but I'm sure if that's what your kids want, they will make it happen.

I have to agree... We booked a lunch and it was dead and the food was awful. It had no seasoning.

The kids did a mock rodeo with a few of the other kids, but the energy just wasn't there, so I would say ask if you are going for the atmosphere or just the food.
