So my family and my DBF are leaving in 50 days to head to the world. I'm trying to plan a dinner for me and my DBF since he hasnt been there since he was 12 (we're now 21 and 22). So i just want to know what would be an ideal table service meal for us. Doesnt have to be anything fancy or upscale. Somewhere where the atmosphere is fun and easy going. And it doesnt matter what park. I just need some help!

With you being so close to your arrival I would recommend looking to see what is available before getting your hopes up about a specific restaurant.

Most people have been booking their TS meals months ago, so many may not be available.

I would recommend you look to see what is available, check out their menus and then ask questions. You will get so many answers otherwise it may be to hard to narrow down.

Good luck, and have fun!!!

I have to agree with PP.

You have left the door wide open; no preferences as to the type of cuisine, etc.

I also suggest you go to this board or allearsnet and take a look at some of the menus at the resorts - don't forget, you don't have to eat at just a park.

I did a no-park, all resort trip this past Nov/Dec and ate at several different resorts. All wonderful.

I will add my favorites:

Grand Floridian Cafe - comfy, like sitting on someone's sunporch
Sanaa at Kidani Village - love the animals on the Savannah; over the top food
Yak 'n Yeti - great bar, good food, great view on the second floor
Kouzzina at the Boardwalk - great atmosphere; fabulous food
Fulton's at DTD - fantastic if you get a table on the water; really good food; great desserts
Raglan Road at DTD - actually like their app menu and beer at the bar preferably
Paradisio 37 at DTD - also good app menu and margaritas; outdoor seating
Beaches and Cream at BC - good home-cooked food
Yachtman's Steakhouse at YC - great steaks
California Grill at the Contemporary - love their cheese platter and dessert

1900 Park Fare is one of our favorites because it has characters, so you get that Disney Magic, but the characters are hilarious and fun, so you don't feel out of place with all of the kids running around. They also have various cuisines as it's a buffet and getting an ADR shouldn't be too hard.

I agree with the PP to find out what places have openings...then look at the menus to find out what they have.

Here are some of my favorites:

MK - Crystal Palace - Character Meal - Buffet
DHS - 50's Prime Time - this one is a lot of fun
Grand Floridian - 1900 Park Fare - Buffet
Contemporary - Chef Mickeys - Buffet
AK - Rainforest Cafe

My now DH and I went on two trips when we were in our early twenties and her are some good suggestions for kinda short notice reservations:
1. Flying Fish at Boardwalk-beautiful place, great food and jellyrolls and espn are there if you want to have a drink after dinner or just have some fun.
2. late dinner at Jiko's usually later reservation can be had still, like 8:30 or 9pm-interesting food, great atmosphere and a fun hotel to explore. Spring for a cab back to home resort or transfer buses at DD.
3. Yachtman's Steakhouse great steak, second only to le cellar which is hard to get a reservation for, you can hit the boardwalk after of head for ice cream at beaches and cream-watch Illuminations.

These are some of the fun and romantic thing that me and DH did when we were your age. 2nd trip at AKL DH popped the question after dinner at Jiko's. Don't know if you're there yet?

In December of 2010, I was able to get a reservation for 2 for Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian with 10 days notice. That is a nice place, and they have good food.

Just a suggestion.

Enjoy the trip.

As others have suggested, look first to see what's available.

Do you like Character dining?
Romantic?
Interactive/Festive/Noisy?
Unique and unusual food?
Ethnic food?
Comfort food?
Is a view important?
Do you want music or entertainment?

The choices are almost endless. If you tell us a little about what you like, we certainly can make suggestions.

I notice that you specify, "where the atmosphere is fun and easy going". Anything else?

You're young, so you might enjoy places like Beaches & Cream(great burgers and ice cream treats), Paradiso 37 in Pleasure Island or Raglan Road(also Pleasure Island). Check them out on Allears.com(net?) to see the menu. Have a blast! :goodvibes

In addition to some of the places listed...
House of Blues (Downtown Disney) - it has a good energy and sometimes live music
Big River Grill (Boardwalk) - if you like micro brews
