Are there height restrictions at the water parks? And is the water heated? (since we will be there in November). Especially want to know about TL and the snorkelling. My DS is 4 and can swim alone with a snorkel, but didn't know if they had a age or height restriction. Would anyone recommend going to a waterpark with DS's 4 and 2? Is there a family raft ride at TL? (It's been awhile since I've been at the waterparks!):p

there is a family raft ride at both parks. I prefer the one at Blizzard beach, but others like TL. The kids area at BB is superb - my dd 4 really loved it there.

there are definitely height restrictions on some of the big slides, but I am not sure about the snorkling

My dh and I really prefer TL because of the lush tropical atmosphere. It's a beautiful park. Our ds is only 16 months now so I can't really recommend or not recommend taking a 2-year old but maybe someone else can speak to that. Here's a LINK to WDW's site about TL. I think the Humunga Kowabunga slide is the only one with a height restriction (48") but your 4-year might not want to do that anyway. Mayday Falls is the family tube ride and I don't think there would be a problem riding it with the kids (as long as they were ok with it of course). Ketchakiddee Creek is for the little ones - you have to be 48" or less to go on this one.

If you four year old can swim alone he should be able to do the snorkeling. One thing to remember is you're not allowed to kick your feet while swimming across, so if he's unable to do that you may want to skip it. That is the only area where the water isn't heated.

thanks for the link, but it doesn't say anything about the snorkelling. Anyone know about this?

click on attractions andthen shark reef - no height is listed

When we went in May, my not-quite-5 year old was going to snorkel but decided not to. We went through and they gave him a mask/snorkel and inquired as to whether he wanted a life jacket. No one asked his age or checked his height, so I think it's open to everyone. He didn't like the way that the mask fit (they have only adult masks) and he didn't like the taste of whatever they clean the snorkels in, so he didn't go. He would have been allowed to, though.

The only slide I remember him not being able to go on was Humunga Kowabunga.

There is a family raft ride. We did it a couple of times, but it wasn't our favorite thing to do.

The wave pool was definitely everyone's favorite, so we decided to go to TL a second time that trip instead of BB.
