Question about waitlisting in December

We are wanting to switch our 1 BR at VWL (we have 2 weeks booked, wanted to be sure to have a place to stay-but not at VWL the whole time).

I have a few questions (we have not waitlisted before):

1. Can you be put on a couple of different waitlists-like 1st pref, 2nd pref...

2. If you cannot be waitlisted for multiple resorts, where do you think we would be more likely to be able to book for Wed Dec 14th thru Sun Dec 17th

Our order of preference would be
1. BCV-studio (gotta give the studios another chance!)
2. BWV pref or std view-studio
3. BWV std view 1 BR. (I know-very difficult!)

I will call at the 7 month-day by day. Thanks for any light shed!

I would say BWV just because it has more studios than BCV.

However I would stay at VWL - it is a beautiful resort during Dec!!!

Thanks Spicey. We are going to stay at VWL the second week-we could not imagine NOT staying at VWL in December!

So, does anyone know if you can have different waitlist desires, or is it just one?

Yes, you can have multiple waitlists. I have done it before for BWV and BCV at the same time for F&W. When you go onto the waitlist, make sure to tell them how you would like your notification if your waitlist comes thru. What I mean: Do you want it to automatically be changed, or do you want them to call you first. I always ask to be called before changing. They will leave a message if you aren't home and then you have 24 hours to respond.

Thanks Carol, that is good news. I can't believe I have read so much info on these boards and never paid attention to the waitlist info.

I guess it will be a DVC house of cards when one person cancels and then the resort swapping begins!

I would think your chances would be good. We had points in holding that we could only use 60 days out for a trip in Dec. 04. We called at exactly 60 days and wanted Boardwalk, but would take whatever we could get. We received OKW 60 days out, then about a week later they phoned to say we could have SS. About two weeks after that, they called to say we had BW. Then they offered to waitlist us for BW - standard view instead of preferred, but we had to borrow a few points to complete the ressie, so we would have been stuck with points if we had gotten standard - so we kept the preferred view. I was very pleased with the waitlist.
