Question about wait list and points.

We are booked for three nights at OKW in October. We are on the wait list at BCV for these same nights. Our use year is December, so we need to bank our unused points by the end of this month (July). In the event we get BCV, how does the "system" handle the fact that we will need more points for BCV? Should we bank our points assuming we will get BCV (Seems unlikely from what I have read due to Food and Wine)? We are new to DVC and new to the forums as well, so any help will be appreciated.

I am fairly new but I believe that if you bank your points now and the WL comes through, they will contact you and ask if you want them to borrow to fill the WL.

WHen you bank your points, you need to authorize MS to borrow if needed if your WL comes through. Otherwise, your WL may come thru and without enough points, they will pass it over. My understanding is that MS will no longer call to confirm you want to use borrowed points.

Then wait as long as you can to bank the points in case you need to cancel the entire trip before you banking deadline. Best of luck -- Suzanne

Thanks for the info. We will wait until the end of July to bank. We will also make sure MS knows we want to borrow points if necessary.
