:wave2: I know you cannot pool hop. I am not asking that in any way. But what I want to know is can you get inside the pool areas to take a look around, but not get in the pool?? I like to scout different resorts on our off days, and have always avoided the pool areas. But Its just killing me cause I want to see some of them!! So no flames here please!!!:rolleyes1 Thanks so much!!!

Yes, you can.

I went and scouted out SAB at the Beach Club.. convinced me I made the right decision to book there. Of course it's the only one that you can't enter the actual pool area without a wristband.... but you can see it very well from Beaches & Cream.. and the boardwalk walkway behind it.
Before that I've visited just about every deluxe pool area.. I was curious. I like to know because it's a big factor to us when I make reservations.

Yes, (I believe) as long as you do not enter the pool, you're not breaking any rule. That's what we did with Poly & GF for about 3-4 trips in a row.

Stormalong Bay is the only one that you cannot actually go into the pool area and sit on the chairs. You need to be a guest of the Yacht or Beach Club in order to do that. But you can visit all the other pools with no problem. When we walk from the Studios (have to get used to not calling it MGM anymore) to Epcot, we often cut through the Boardwalk pool area, use the bathrooms there, and then exit on the Boardwalk side.

I am just curious because I have read so many times that you need to be a guest of the Yacht or Beach Club in order to visit their pool. I was not aware of this rule last October when I stayed at another WDW resort. One day my Sister and I sat in chairs around the SAB pool while we waited for my DH. No one ever asked us for ID. We did notice that almost everyone was wearing wrist bands. Is this how they keep "non-resort guests" from entering the pool area? Were we just lucky that no one noticed us? My family will be spending two nights at the BC at the end of August, so I am just wondering if we will be getting the wrist bands?

The wrist bands and kinda like EMH you get one every single day of your stay when after the park closes and you show them your room key. I think they do this because of some people resort hop aka stay 4 nights at the Beach Club they 7 nights at Animal Kingdom lodge and since its tempting to go backa and go swimming with your wrist band they give you a different color every single day its just that some people and not honest

We were there for 10 nights from June 23 - July 3rd. We visited the pool almost every day, say 8 out of the 11 days. There was 2 of those days that they did not give wristbands to people.. I don't know why.. I didn't ask.

As for do they check? Yes.. they do. A boy was swimming with my daughter, they were going up and down the slide.. and the lifeguard on the top of the slide told the boy he wouldn't be allowed down again unless he went to get a wristband. His mother was busy gabbing... she said in a minute. So the kids went to swim and were going around in the small whirlpool thing while they waited... the lifeguard there nicely told the boy to exit the pool until he had a wristband on, which eventually, mom did go over and get him.

Maybe they didn't say anything to you because you weren't in the water?

When you come from Beaches & Cream there is usually a lifeguard right there to give them out, or stop someone from coming in. Then there's one entrance by the boardwalk walkway too. They are the only 2 entrances to the pool unless you hop the bushes.
