Anyone rent through them know how strict they are about their Max occupancy? I am looking at 2 villas, both have the same beds, but one says that it sleeps 6 and the other says that it sleeps 8. What gives?

The one that sleeps 8 probably has a sofa bed. And yes they are strict about the max. occup. But it isn't necessarily Villa Direct it's the licensing board. The home is licensed for a certain number of people and you're not allowed to have more than that. It's usually two per double - king bed and one in each twin and two on a sofa bed if there is one.

Yeap, the sofa bed is what it was, not sure why I didn't figure that one out. Guess I wasn't looking at sofa beds, since 2 of ours will be in pack and plays the sleeps 6 one is better for us, but I will just have to call and see what they say about that. Thanks

Just called and the 2 in the pack in play is perfectly fine. Thought I'd post that in case anyone else needed to know.

Interesting. :confused3 That seems to be different from everything I've read here before which was that licensing was for a certain number of people regardless of age (i.e. infants counted towards the max count).

That isn't what the women at Villa Direct said, and I even booked one that sleeps 8 with her knowing that 2 would be in pack and plays. If it is based on what certain beds hold then logic will tell you that if you bring a pack and play, then the one's sleeping in them will not count towards the max, because they will not be in the beds that are in the unit. Just shows that it never hurts to ask.
