Question about 'value season'

We are planning to go early February 2007, and I think that's considered value season. But does 'value' typically mean OFF season which would equate to lots of rides being down for refurbishment?

There are normally a few rides down for refurbishment during the slower seasons, especially Feb. There are pro's and con's to going at that time and that is one of the cons. But if you have been to disney several times before, I think you would appreciate the "emptiness" of the park. They don't normally close a lot of major attractions down at once, so there will still be plenty to do!!

We visit in January or early February each year. This past year, of the major attractions, I believe only Test Track was down for rehab. (The week after our trip, Splash Mountain was also down for a few days.)

I don't remember lots of rides being down for refurb in the Jan-March time frame. It seems that Disney will work on a ride no matter what time of year it is. They have a master schedule and try to follow it closely. I do however like the smaller crowds in Feb because we are able to see more without waiting.

We went in Jan. this year. Test Track & Buzz Lightyear were closed. That's my son's 2 favorite rides so that stunk, but it still beats going when it's hot & crowded. :wave2:

Value season almost by definition is off season, although the exact dates vary slightly among the resorts.

If refurbishments can be scheduled, generally they will be done during off season. Other important considerations are getting it done by a certain date, or not having too many attractions closed at any given time.
