Question about using a pin code

We are going to Disney World the first week of November with my in-laws. We aren't staying at the same resort. My in-laws received a pin code yesterday, does anyone know it can be applied to both of our reservations, or can it only be applied to them? Is there any way to apply it to both? The other question I have is about the dates. It says it is only valid through end of August. But when I click on the Book Now link, and I put in our November dates, it is applying the discount, is that possible?
