DH and I did a solo WDW last November. We bought 7 day park hopper non-expiring tickets. We have 4 days left on them.

We are going back to WDW with the kids in September. Can we still add days and the waterpark option onto these tickets? And if so, how is it determined, how much it will cost? TIA!

You can't add to any ticket past the 14 day window whether you have no expiration or not. To add is to upgrade as in paying only the difference between what you had and what you now want. But you can apply the remaining dollar value towards what you want.

Only Guest Relations can give you an exact figure on what you'll end up paying for the new one but the general rule of thumb that will get you very close is to take the gate price of the 7 day no expiration PH ($309) and since you used three days already, subtract the gate price of a 3 day no expiration PH ($231). The resulting figure ($78) is what you can expect as a credit on the old ticket. Subtract that from the price of whatever new ticket you want and you'll be pretty close. Note that above dollar figures are pre-tax prices.
