Question about unused Disney World ticket

I have a question about a completely unused Disney World ticket. I purchased 6 adult and 2 kids 5 day park hopper plus tickets from Hotwire about 3 months ago for a trip in June. One of the adults was unable to go and so I have one complete ticket left.

I know hotwire doesn't do refunds so I'm not sure what my options are (if any).

I could sell it on Ebay, but would honestly like to do that as my last resort.

My sisIL and BIL are going down in September, but they will only need 3 day passes. I know you can upgrade tickets, but is there anyway that they could use this ticket toward the tickets they will use? If so, do you know where they would do it?

Do you know of anything else I could do with it, other than waiting until our next trip - which could unfortunately be years away.

I believe what you are asking is can they apply the value of this unused 5 day PHP towards the purchase price of two 3 day PHP's. Is that correct? If that is your question, the answer is no. Disney does not sell a 3 day PH or PHP at the gates.

If they are willing to give up the park hopping aspect of it, they could use your 5 day towards the purchase of two 3 day/3 park tickets and pay the difference. But those are one park per day tickets so they may not be what you in-laws will want.

Anything involving upgrades or applying the dollar value from one ticket to another must be done at a Guest Relations location and any of the major parks or at either of the DTD GR locations.
