Question about Universal Studios

I've read posts about Express Ride Admission for guests staying on-site. Is this different than the express service advertised by buying a multi-day pass? If so, how?

Im going May 7-10 (Weekdays) and wonder if one is measurably better than the other. Thanks for any information.
