Question about Universal Express tickets

Hello. We are going to Universal for our first time ever in a week and we are staying on site because we were told that we'd get something called Universal Express which would let us into certain rides without waiting in line as many times as we wanted.

Now I hear that some rides only let you do that once until 3pm. Is that right? If so, is that specified anywhere?

If that's the case, it sounds like missleading advertisement on the part of Universal but maybe I just missunderstood them.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

We just stayed at the Hard rock in August and you get front of the line on all rides and shows except for Pterydon flyers. It is available all day with no restrictions. It was awesome. Have a great time.

As far as I understand it, if you stay on site you get FOTL on all rides with the exception of Pteranadon Flyers, as stated above. You use your room key for this and there are no restrictions.

You can also buy a Universal/IOA Express Pass, which allows FOTL access just once per ride (although some have said they have used it more than once).

If you buy an Orlando FlexTicket, you automatically get use of the Universal Express system, similar to Disney's Fastpass system, where you can get a designated time to ride and join a separate queue.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong anyone.

So, what you get when staying on-site is unlimited FOTL access.

Thank you very much. I called Guest Services and I was told that it could only be used once per attraction, but maybe she totally missed the whole "we are staying on site" part of my question.

Whoever you talked to probably thought you were talking about express pass plus. The FOTL for hotel guests is not once per attractions. There were times that they limited it in the past but it is not limited right now.

on of the best reasons for staying on site at universal is the perk of fotl
front of the line pass.

when you use the express pass line, it does not filter into the regular line for most of the rides and attractions like disney does.

you stay on site and your room key allows you to use all express lines.
even the horror make up show has it.

Thank you again.

I was wondering, when does the FOTL deal expire? Is it the day you check our or can it still be used that day? We have several hours before we have to leave for the airport and we may just hit the parks one more time since we got the "buy 2 days, get 5 days" pass.

You can use it the day you check out as well. What we always do is check out early, leave our stuff in the car, take the boat ride to the park and enjoy the day. Our first year at the Hard Rock, the guy at the check out desk was kind enough to let us in on that secret. Of course, that's more money spent at the park.

That's fantastic! I was not very excited about Universal at first (I'm a Disney fan myself but my bf kept saying that he wanted to see it so I gave in) but the more I think about it, the more I look forward to checking the parks out, specially with the FOTL trick!

Are the "free" express passes still available if you purchase tickets? In past years they had a "fast pass" system similar to WDW.

Yes. They are still available.

Actually they are not available at this time. They are experimenting with eliminating the express pass machines during non-peak time. The express pass machines have been covered up for the last two weeks. The good news as they haven't been needed as most rides are a walk on.

phampton, do you think the second weekend of oct will be crowded during the daytime?

hoping that my fotl will be well worth it.

Oct. 13-14 Orlando schools are out. Those days including the weekend will probably be busier than usual. I can't speak fo the rest of the month but Octobers are usually pretty slow.
