Question about turbo-tax/tax-cut

Not sure which of these are better, but have heard some grumbling about Turbo-tax recently.

I have always done our taxes but still haven't done this years because I'm nervous to. We bought a townhouse in 11/01, 10/02 hubby got a new job and we had to sell it/move to a new state and buy a new house. We did make money on the sale, but put every dime of it plus more into our new house.

I'm wondering if tax cut or turbo tax would be beneficial? I am usually very thorough on my own, but am wondering with the changes above it it would help.

Any opinions?

I never buy software, but have filed online with turbotax for the last several years without any problems.

I have been using these programs for years. It double checks your numbers and helps you find deductions you might not have thought about.

Between the two I would go with Tax Cut. Turbo Tax added a feature to theirs this years that disables your cd burner and prevents you from making a backup copy of your software. They did this in response to software piracy but they don't fully disclose this. So this year I switched to Tax Cut because of that policy.

We did a lot of research this year and for the reason of the C-dilla we switched to Tax Cut and returned Turbo Tax.

I have used Turbo-Tax for several years, including this year. Works great. Your situation would be addressed as standard fare in the program, mtemm. With your being in the townhouse less than two years, some questions, in the program, would need to be answered.

Yes. As you input various itmes, you will trigger questions, and answers to those questions will prompt other questions. It works great.
