Question about transfers

I have a resale contract at BLT, April Use Year. It came with some banked 2014 points that expire in March, so we booked an impromptu trip for Jan. We originally had to book a split stay since it was short notice and marathon week to boot (3 nights at Poly, 2 nights at OKW 1 br), and we had to use 20 2015 points to make up the difference. Our Poly wait list came through last week (for Thurs and Fri of Marathon weekend...I'm shocked!). I'm left with 10 2015 points that are now holding points.

My parents are planning a long weekend at Disney in March. They own at SSR. I read that I can transfer holding points, is that correct? I'd also like to clarify the once per year rule - it's once per use year? So this will be my 1 2015 transfer as well as my parents' 1 2015 transfer? I suppose it's not a big deal since I banked the rest of my 2015 points, and my parents are having to borrow 2016 points for their March trip.

I've gotten some bad info from the CMs at Member Services before, so I'd just like to check with the "experts" so I know if/when to give pushback on my request. TIA!

I have never transferred but I thought I read that holding points are not transferable. Good Luck!

Holding points are transferable as long as they were current use year points when they went into holding rather than banked or borrowed points. They just remain holding points when transferred and thus cannot be banked after the transfer. You are limited to one transfer, in or out but not both, per use year and the transfer of those points would be in your 2015 use year.

Note that the MS person that answers the phone may not understand this rule so you may have to get to a manager to have it done after the person who answers the phone swears it cannot be done.

As long as they are definitely 2015 points then I believe you can transfer. Holding status does not add that restriction, just when you can book with them and changes the expiration if they are current points.

And yes, it would use up the 2015 one time transfer for both of you.
